The National University of Singapore is unquestionably the top university in whole Asia and can make a dent in any area in the world’s top 20. Without doing something very revolutionary, I don’t think the University of Tokyo will catch up anytime soon. I mean, never. The use of AI there is also innovative.
“For domains like law, nursing and social work, large language models (LLMs) could potentially bridge the gap between academic instruction and real- world applications.” Sharp, but spot on.
You are absolutely right about “the school believes that AI can help scale roleplaying and the development of practical skills for some professions.” Role-playing works well for learning law, social work, etc., and AI is very well suited to create realistic scenarios used in these areas.
In the area of business administration, where I belong to now, AI is also very good at pulling in material and cooking it up for business case analyses. I think the range of applications will expand as much as possible in the future.
Many universities have yet to make AI a part of their curriculum, but Singapore has already done so. Fear not, let’s keep up the good work, APU!
「For domains like law, nursing and social work, large language models (LLMs) could potentially bridge the gap between academic instruction and real-world applications.」
「the school believes that AI can help scale roleplaying and the development of practical skills for some professions」についても全くその通り。
